SPU transfers public areas from 18 airports to Civil Aviation

Union Heritage

In addition to becoming a source of revenue for the Union, destination is important to regularize the process of concessions.

The Secretariat of Coordination and Governance of the Union's Heritage (SPU), of the Ministry of Economy, transferred the management of the areas of 18 civil airports to the National Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SAC), linked to the Ministry of Infrastructure. The terms of delivery were signed on the night of Tuesday (6/8), in Brasilia, in a ceremony attended by the secretaries of SPU, Fernando Bispo, and SAC, Ronei Glanzmann.

This is the first step for the transfer of areas of the Union destined to civil airport infrastructure, aiming at their real estate regularization. In the proposed model, the airport areas will remain the domain of the Union and may be used by concessions, either by private initiative or by states.

The areas delivered to SAC are located in the municipalities of Porto Nacional (TO), Coxim (MS), Dourados (MS), Tres Lagoas (MS), Currais Novos (RN), Ponta Pora (MS), Maracaju (MS), Nioaque (MS), Lages (SC), Araguari (MG), Belo Horizonte (MG), Governor Valadares (MG), Alfenas (MG), Caxambu (MG), Araxá (MG), Divinópolis (MG), Uberaba (MG) and São Gonçalo do Amarante (RN).

Another 22 civil airports are already listed in the South, North and Midwest, which may be subject to concession or state management.

According to Secretary Fernando Bispo, this is yet another action to improve the management of Union real estate, which also applies to airport areas. “It is an initiative that promotes socioeconomic development. We are turning real estate considered costly and useless for public administration into a source of revenue and public policies for the benefit of society, ”said Bishop.

The secretary of SAC, Ronei Glanzmann, said that it is important for civil aviation the formal act of transfer of areas, as it is a process of legalization of airports. “We are already in the sixth round of concessions and we will do more. For this, we need to have the real estate equity situation regularized, ”he emphasized.

For the SPU coordinator, Lúcio Gomes, signing the terms of delivery is a relevant step to regularize the areas of civil airports. “The delivery of the areas will provide legal certainty and add value to civil airport concession models,” he said.
