Minister of Tourism inaugurates CAT and meets with managers in Palmas

Along with the governor of the state, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio received requests for infrastructure to move tourism in the region.

On his second day fulfilling agendas in the state of Tocantins, the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, held in Palmas (TO), strategic agendas for the development of the sector in the region. During Saturday morning (17), he met with the governor of the state, Mauro Carlesse; Deputy Governor Wanderlei Barbosa and other local managers to discuss infrastructure actions and support in publicizing the tourist attractions of Tocantins.

Álvaro Antônio highlighted how delighted he was with the visit to Jalapão and reiterated that the place has immense potential to make Tocantins a reference in tourism. “The potential has to be turned into reality and results. It is important to see the moment we are in Brazil. We take a struggling country and our president Jair Bolsonaro works so that you Trade can continue to invest. We need to move Brazil forward, ”he emphasized.

Also at the meeting, the governor of the state, Mauro Carlesse, sent a letter calling for support to infrastructure works on roads, and stressed that tourism goes far beyond tourists. “Works must focus on serving the citizen. I always think of employment, the dignity of the worker. Tourism can also be one of those points of job and income generation ”, he concluded.

Owner of singular natural beauty and the right destination for adventure seekers, Tocantins has received more and more tourists. Data from the State Agency for Tourism Development, Culture and Creative Economy (Adetuc-TO) show that one of the main destinations of the state, the Jalapão State Park, had a 59% growth in the number of visitors, receiving more than 23.1 a thousand people last year. In addition, the state agency pointed out that almost all tourists who came to know the charms of Jalapão (99%) are Brazilian. Of these, almost half are from São Paulo or Cariocas.
