Recovery

In the face of economic reforms, the perception of Brazilians regarding the direction of the economy has improved.

The perception of Brazilians regarding the country's economy is more optimistic. Between December and April, the number of Brazilians who believe in the improvement of the economic scenario grew. In that same period, the portion of the population that saw the economy with pessimism declined.

The data were published on Tuesday (2) by the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo and are referring to the survey conducted by Datafolha on April 26 and 27. A total of 2,781 people were heard in 172 municipalities

According to the survey, the share of respondents who expect an improvement in economic indexes has risen from 28% to 31%, with the number of people believing in the worsening economy falling from 41% to 31%.

In this sense, the perception of the personal economic situation of Brazilians jumped from 37% to 45% in the most recent survey, while the number of people who believe in a worsening of their economic situation went from 27% to 18%.

Reform to grow

In recent months, the effects of economic reforms have begun to be felt. Inflation measured in the last 12 months ended in March is 4.57%, close to the Central Bank's target of 4.5%. Structural interest rates for the economy are cheaper at 11.25% a year compared to 14% a year at the end of last year.
