The Consumer Price Index - Weekly (CPI-S), calculated by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), fell in four of the seven capitals surveyed between the last week of March and the first week of April.
According to data released by the institution on Tuesday (11), Belo Horizonte was the city with the biggest drop: 0.21 percentage point, as inflation fell from 0.49% in the last week of March to 0.28% In the first week of April.
Salvadoran inflation also fell (0.11 percentage points, from 0.33% to 0.22%), São Paulo (0.08 percentage point, going from 0.31% to 0.23%) and Porto Alegre (0.06 percentage point: from 0.52% to 0.46%).
The three cities that presented an increase in the rate of change of prices were Brasília (0.38% to 0.58%), Recife (0.54% to 0.65%) and Rio de Janeiro (0.75% to 1, 00%).
The groups that had a decrease in their rates of variation were Housing, Transport, Clothing and Miscellaneous Expenses. On the other hand, the classes of expenditures surveyed that registered an increase in their rates of variation were Food, Education, Reading and Recreation, Health and Personal Care and Communication.
