Expresso Leste-Mogi celebrates 1 month of operation on Thursday (8)

After 19 years making transfer between trains in Guaianases, residents of Alto Tietê celebrate direct trips of Students to Light

The operation of the Espresso Leste-Mogi (Luz-Estudantes) during business hours completes a month of operation on Thursday (8).

With the end of the need for transshipment in the Guaianases Station and the reduction of the interval, the CPTM increased the number of trips between Students and Guaianases, offering daily 34 thousand more places.

"It was three months of intense work in this beginning of management, aiming to improve the service offered to the people of Alto Tietê, who had been demanding the arrival of the Eastern Express in the region for 19 years," says CPTM president Pedro Moro. "With great effort, we have met the goal!" He celebrates.

In order to operate with full-time direct student travel, CPTM modernized the 11-Coral Line fleet and carried out infrastructure works, improving the power grid and the Patriarca and Don Bosco energy substations.

The interval was reduced in one minute, from the average of 9 to 8 minutes. The travel time of the trip between Students and Luz also decreases about 8 minutes.

The implementation of the full-time service has brought more comfort to the approximately 70,000 passengers per day of the Guaianases Station, since it has reduced the volume of people on the platform and improved the loading and unloading operation.

With the East-Mogi Express, the total daily trips of Line 11-Coral went from 459 to 465. The average number of passengers transported in April was about 757 thousand per working day. The trend is for improvements to attract even more passengers.
