Entrepreneurship In The Peripheries

Project of the Secretariat of Economic Development offers courses such as fashion design, graphite, food styling and social media

Expand opportunities with creative work and focus on autonomy. This is one of the goals of São Paulo Criativo, a program of the Secretariat of Economic Development, which has given a new chance, especially to young people.

The courses related to the areas of fashion, design, arts, gastronomy and digital marketing are underway in Campinas, Presidente Prudente, Santos, São Bernardo do Campo and São Vicente. The last open pole for the program was in the capital, in the neighborhood of São Miguel Paulista, in the far east.

"We are already studying the opening of new units in the peripheries. We want to focus on the creative development, especially of our unemployed young people, but the opportunities for courses will be open to people of all ages, "explains the coordinator of São Paulo Creative, Daniel Barros.

"The idea is that they leave the course with the thought of managing new business. Thinking about it, we already have a grid that includes qualification and entrepreneurship. At the moment, the project is also gathering information on what works and what can be improved, "he says. According to Barros, the next groups will have news.

Career

The work already offered in partnership with the Paula Souza Center and the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the State has already had an effect on the lives of young people. "I work in the beauty area, but I was not getting that much money to keep me going. So I decided to expand my chances in the fashion design course and I'm already thinking of doing the window dressing as well, "says student Miguel Freire Sotto, 16. "I'm new and I think it will be great for my career," he says.

Graduated in photography, the student of São Paulo Creative saw the course as a possibility to expand his works. "I'm doing food styling, let's learn how to assemble the dishes, a job that should be done together with the head chef and that is paramount for the gastronomic photo," said Marco Aurelio Marmiroli. "Putting this together and my knowledge of photography will be great," he celebrates.
