Economic improvement boosts business confidence, says FGV

Optimism

Business and industry sector recorded a rise in confidence in November, according to a survey by the Getulio Vargas Foundation

The improvement of the Brazilian economy continues to encourage entrepreneurs in Brazil. Survey of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) shows that business confidence stood at 91.8 points in November, the best level since May 2014.  According to the research, released on Thursday (30) by the entity,  this level " is approaching levels compatible with periods of economic expansion. "

In the month, there was an improvement in the perception of the current and business situation and also in relation to expectations for the future. In the first case, the indicator stood at 86.7 points - the highest in almost four years, and in the second, the highest level since December 2014.

In another recovery signal, the survey registered an increase in the hiring indicator in the business sector. In November, the share of entrepreneurs willing to hire was higher than those who want to reduce staff.

Industry

Entrepreneurs in the industrial sector are also more confident about business. Industry confidence, as measured by FGV, is the highest since January 2014 with 98.3 points.

"The resumption of industrial confidence has been gaining consistency in recent months. The production of the sector has been growing, and inventories have adjusted, a virtuous scenario that is reflected in strategic hiring decisions, "says the entity.
