Develops SP completes 10 years of incentive to the Creative Economy

Government Development Agency celebrates a decade supporting the growth of enterprises in the territory of São Paulo

When creativity and knowledge are the main components of a company's products, it is certainly part of the Creative Economy's production chain. In it are inserted segments such as advertising, architecture, arts and antiques, crafts, design, fashion, cinema and video, music, performing arts, publishing, leisure software, radio and TV, among others.

With the support of Desarroll SP, the development agency of the State Government, the companies that operate in the sector are contributing more and more to the strengthening of the economy of São Paulo.

Creative Economy can be defined as processes involving the creation, production and distribution of products and services, using knowledge, creativity and intellectual capital as the main productive resources. Within a scenario where products are increasingly similar, creativity has become an important asset, consolidating itself as one of the determining factors to increase the competitive advantage of companies.

Development SP's support for the Creative Economy began early in the beginning of the institution's operations. In 2010, it financed the acquisition of machinery for a small jewelry company in Limeira, in the interior of the state.

Today, much of the Agency's innovation-focused funding is for software companies or projects related to the creation of applications (apps) or games. One such company is Flux Games Studio, an electronic game developer that has already produced materials for large corporations and multinationals, and today focuses on proprietary content for commercial release.

"The creativity market in Brazil is vast and very productive, with great potential for growth, and our goal is to encourage this rich cultural diversity present in the State to boost the development of the economy, contributing to the generation of jobs and income," says Rafael Bergamaschi, Business Superintendent of Desenvolvimento SP.

In addition to financing companies that focus on the Creative Economy, the Agency stimulates the segment and has already supported important events such as the "Big Festival", the largest fair in the Latin American gaming industry, and in the area of cinema (audiovisual) the already established international festival "It's All True".
