Federal Revenue has already received 26.4 million statement. Taxpayer who misses the deadline will have to pay a fine
The deadline for declaring Income Tax 2017 ends at 23:59 on Friday (28). According to the latest balance sheet, 26,444,300 of documents had already been sent to the Federal Revenue database until 3:00 p.m. The Treasury's expectation is to receive 28.3 million statements by the end of tonight.
The late delivery penalty is calculated based on the amount of tax due. Thus, not even who is entitled to the refund is free to pay if delivered the statement after the period stipulated by the Revenue.
The penalty for documents sent late is 1% to the calendar month or fraction of delay, whose minimum amount is R $ 165.74 and maximum of 20% of the tax due.
The taxpayers who sent the declaration at the beginning of the term, without errors, omissions or inconsistencies, will receive the refunds of the Income Tax earlier. Elderly people, people with severe illness and physically or mentally disabled people have priority.
This year, refund lots will be made available to taxpayers on June 16, July 17, 2017, August 15, September 15, October 16, November 16, and December 15.
Even if the taxpayer does not have all the necessary documents in hand to deliver the declaration, it is important that the submission be made until the term established by the Revenue. For these people, the option is to deliver with incomplete data and then make a rectifying statement.
However, all rectifications must be in the same model as the original declaration (complete or simplified). It is also necessary to have the delivery number of the previous statement to inform in the new document.
