Brasília was the city that registered the biggest drop in the index released by the Getulio Vargas Foundation
The Weekly Consumer Price Index (CPI-S) decelerated in the seven capitals surveyed by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) between the second and third weeks of April. Overall, the index registered a change of 0.31%, 0.13 percentage point below the rate disclosed in the last calculation.
According to data released by the institution on Tuesday (25), Brasília was the city that registered the biggest fall, falling from 0.59% to 0.35% in the period. São Paulo had the second largest reduction, going from 0.25% to 0.07%. In Belo Horizonte, the rate fell 0.14 percentage points and there was deflation (price decrease) of 0.12% in the third week of April.
In the other localities evaluated, there was a slowdown in the price index, as in Salvador (from 0.16% to 0.12%), Porto Alegre (from 0.37% to 0.32%), Recife ( From 0.60% to 0.48%) and Rio de Janeiro (from 0.97% to 0.85%).
