Larger supply of products helped reduce wholesale and consumer prices
The price of food is getting smaller for consumers. Data from Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab) show that vegetables were cheaper at wholesale prices in November.
Every month, the institution carries out a survey in the Ceasas of the Country. According to data from this last study, the price that fell the most was tomatoes in São Paulo, a drop of 28.75%. This downward movement in prices has brought down food inflation.
Conab's data also show that this fall in prices is widespread among vegetables and fruits. Among the main products, the company highlights chilli (-31%), pod (-26%), chuchu (-17%), beet (-11%), plum (-23%), %), lemon (-16%) and peach (-4%).
