Representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) member countries are meeting in Guayaquil, Ecuador for the 60th Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC / BID Invest).

The meeting, which will start this Tuesday (7/16) and end on Wednesday (5/17), will discuss new resource mobilization tools, the future of regional development banks and the challenges of the digital revolution for the region and for multilateral development banks.

Brazil will be represented by the Deputy Special Secretary of Foreign Trade and International Affairs of the Ministry of Economy, Yana Dumaresq, and the Secretary for International Economic Affairs, Erivaldo Gomes.

Among banks and multilateral development funds, the IDB is the largest source of external financing for projects in priority sectors for Brazil. In June 2019, the institution accounted for US $ 14.24 billion of the US $ 42.94 billion in the active portfolio of the External Financing Commission (Cofiex).
