Funding targets the information technology, new materials, biotechnology, nanotechnology and audiovisual sectors
Innovative small and medium-sized companies, with an annual turnover of a maximum of R $ 90 million, can count on a new line of credit. The financing will be launched by BNDESPAR and is destined, preferably, to the sectors of information technology, new materials, biotechnology, nanotechnology and audiovisual.
The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) Initiative has as its main objectives: to structure a new form of support for innovation and MSMEs; Complement existing forms of BNDES and BNDESPAR support; Encourage specialized managers to work with a focus on long-term credit for small and medium-sized enterprises; Among other actions.
BNDESPAR may invest up to R $ 80 million, limited to a maximum participation of 50% in the total equity of the fund, which may reach R $ 200 million. The other funds will be raised with other investors. The fund will have a private manager, to be selected by public call. The result will be known by August.
The structured credit fund for innovative SMEs is a pilot project of BNDESPAR inspired by international experiences called venture debt , which is the granting of credit for these types of companies. Considering the international experiences, it is estimated that this market can reach up to R $ 1 billion in Brazil.
Support for MSMEs
In the credit segment for this profile of companies, BNDES already offers resources in the direct modality, with conditions incentivized in relation to the cost and linked to the execution of plans of investment in innovation.
In the indirect support, through accredited financial agents, the main products are BNDES Card, BNDES Automático, BNDES MPME Inovadora and BNDES Progeren, to finance working capital .
