Balance has a surplus of US $ 1 billion in the first week of July

In comparison with the first week of July last year, the country's average sales abroad grew by 4.3%

The Brazilian trade balance was positive at US $ 1.045 billion in the first week of July. According to the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, the result of the period was formed by the difference between exports of US $ 4.055 billion and imports of US $ 3.010 billion. 

Compared to the first week of July last year, average sales abroad increased by 4.3%, while average imports increased by 7.6%.

In exports, compared to the average of the first week of July 2017 (US $ 811 million) with the average of July 2016 (US $ 777.5 million), there was growth of 4.3%, due to sales of basic products  (+ 13.1%), mainly due to sales of copper ore, corn in grains, iron ore, beef and chicken and soybeans in grains. 

There was also a 10.5% increase in the sales of semimanufactured products, especially raw soybean oil, cellulose and semimanufactured iron and oil.

In the field of imports, there was an increase in expenses, mainly with steel (+ 46.6%), fuels and lubricants (+ 45.7%), plastics and works (+ 38.3%), 2%), motor vehicles and parts (+ 26.7%) and electrical and electronic equipment (+ 18.2%).
